Noise Pollution

1- Pictures

This genre is intended to show my audience the forms of noise pollution in New York City that include traffic, construction, MTA, aircraft, helicopters, sirens, and so on. These pictures were taken near my place of work in Manhattan City as we all know it’s one of New York’s busiest places with high traffic and noisy streets, one picture was taken near Laguardia Airport (where I live) there is always noise of airplane crossing over which annoys me the most and sometimes affects my sleep. The other two pictures were taken in Time Square(my workplace) and there is always some kind of construction going on there with city loudness and traffic which is so stressful and exhausting which changes someone’s mood completely. And one picture was taken in a subway at 42nd Street, which is always crowded with tourists and the train noise which makes everything worse, so everything around is affection us in some way. 

The kind of audience I want to target for this issue is basically all the New Yorkers who get affected in their daily lives by noise pollution and those who are aware of it and want to bring change so it covers everyone because it is becoming global issue. And the medium that I have chosen for this genre is social media, including Facebook, Instagram, snap chat, etc. On these sites, there are ways to get promotions and ads. The other way is to ask a celebrity or someone with a good follower who wants to help bring change. 

2- Opinion Piece

The other genre I did is an Opinion piece in which I wrote about the solutions I found throughout my research and I wrote things we can do and things the government could do to control Noise Pollution. Laws should be enforced by our Council to regulate noise pollution in New York City. The purpose is to raise awareness in people of NewYork to avoid doing things that promote Noise pollution and what should be done to reduce it. The audience for this genre is basically those who read newspapers and those who are aware of this particular issue because the medium I pick for it is a newspaper where I can publish it so all the mature people who read the newspaper can relate this issue with them and raise their voices to get control over it

. There are some matters which can be handled by us to reduce it and there are some matters which the government should take into their hands, like before doing construction work neighbors should be asked for their permission so they will be aware of it and make arrangements. Workers should be provided with good equipment and a noise jacket for the hammer so less noise will generate. Transfer of fewer flights to Laguardia airport could be beneficial, many people are affected by it as many people live around it, so it would help if there were fewer flights to Laguardia Airport. It’s part of raising awareness between people of all ages that this could be the next big issue for us(New Yorkers) so we should all pay some serious attention and work together to reduce Noise Pollution in our surroundings.
